The press: "Rattenfanger".

The rats' happiness.
This is an art which is not clear to everybody. Perhaps there's too much useless details in this film. The film says about childish psychologic priblems, about the sects and their negative effect on the unformed young people. "Rattenfanger" has a great effect on the children, especially on those ones, who even once used to ask himself: "Why do I live?". Everyone is looking for the protection and comfort. And the sect promises it. Happiness! Just join us! But it is very danger. Parents and friends are being blackmailed, they lose a lot of money - of course, their children's or friends' souls are much more important than any amounts of money. Maybe something is a little exaggerated, but one thing is exactly right - some people are too much naiv and think that expluatation can serve the high ideals.
Ludwig Flich, Kurier, daily newspaper, Vienna, August 31, 1984.

Be a child.
Sometimes they appeared bringing black death with themselves. "They" - rats or rat-catchers? Rat-catchers entrap the stupid blind rats, just like that flutist did. He used the trustfulness of the girl to achieve his own purposes. They show us by personal examples: hey, men, I'm happy, you can be just like me, you should only come and join us. The enticement here - is love, comfort, protection. The "Rattenfangers" know the weak places in human hearts and strike the blow without miss. And that's why the motto in the sect is: "Be a child". It means that you have no responsibility and can't make decisions yourselves. And this cat-and-mouse game overs successful. For the rat-catcher, of course.
Lidia Lazutchenko, SUD-OST TAGESPOST, August 31, 1984.
